MKZ Concept is Lincoln’s Future
Behold the Lincoln brand from Ford Motor Co. Down to about 85,000 units in annual sales, Ford is facing a “fish or cut bait” situation with its premium brand. Thus, the unveiling of the MKZ Concept, said to be a great indicator of where Ford is taking the brand, took on great significance last week at the Detroit auto show. Its modern, yet the striking split-wing grille was a tip of the hat to the 1938 Lincoln Zephyr.

Chrysler’s Marchionne Takes on United Way Gig

Chrysler’s Sergio Marchionne gets mobbed like the proverbial rock star wherever he goes these days, so it was wise for the United Way of Southeast Michigan to ask him to be the new campaign chair. All Sergio has to do is phone every Chrysler supplier and ask them to pony up and they might meet goal that way. Still, the UW campaign reflects the generosity of the local business community and now Sergio is its lead.
