Scholarships are awarded to students whose parent has been killed or permanently disabled in an operational mission or training accident. For the 2011 academic year, the fund awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to 240 sons and daughters of American heroes. To date, the fund has awarded more than $5 million in scholarships.
